Movie: Star Trek films 1 through 6

The first one takes it's time.  Take a long, good look at that Enterprise, baby.  But compared to the original series, once re-watched in their entirety, the first one is good.
The second one is classic.  Did you know Chekhov really didn't do much of anything in the original series?  But he has a part in this movie!  That's nice.
The third one has no music playing during the last dramatic conflict.  Why not?
The fourth one gives us "Double dumb-ass on you."  Spock is now new Spock and not old Spock.  Fun movie.
The fifth one is like WHAAAT?  I kind of feel like nothing really happened in this movie.  I recommend it for the camping scenes.
The sixth one goes detective, and it works well. Everyone gets to be pretty cool at least once.

Of course I recommend them!

TV show: My Love from the Star

I watched a Korean romantic comedy drama! It was pretty good, and you can see it subtitled on Hulu. Jingping had already watched it. It's about an alien who's been trapped on Earth for 400 years who falls in love with a woman. I don't care what you think, it was good!

film: Prometheus

Up to this point, I hadn't seen Prometheus mainly because I knew from rumors that I wouldn't like it, and didn't want to subject Jingping to something I knew she wouldn't like and that I wouldn't like.

I didn't like it. It was stupid and didn't make a lot of sense, and when it did make sense it wasn't interesting. It was a waste of time, and I hear it caused Guillermo del Toro to be unable to make At the Mountains of Madness. So, in fact, I hated it.

Game: Mass Effect Series

Great game series, better than any I've played in a long time. Great story, and as I see it, an incredible ending. Apparently the ending made some people angry, I don't really get it. You play the game as an invincible super-soldier, but you aren't a god. The enemy of the series really is presented as something unfathomably powerful, and defeating it takes a huge sacrifice. I thought it was a brave ending, very satisfying.

Overall great series: A+!

TV show!?: game of thrones

we watched all of game of thrones a couple of weeks ago: it was exhausting but highly entertaining. we have joined the cult, i suppose.

we also watched the first season of desperate housewives; or rather, jingping did, and i watched intermittently. not as bad as i expected.
